Description
The Dorset button was originally made by hand, tightly winding thread around a small wire ring.
The button was very popular in the 17th Century for under wear and shirting, also used on bed linen mainly due to the softness of the button and its delicate appearance.
Revived in the 20th Century these buttons were produced in Birmingham in the 1980s.
