SCIENTIFIC NAME : TECTUS (ROCHIA) MAXIMUS
Trocus shell or Trochus or mother of pearl is a naturally sustainable eco – friendly product that is grown responsibly from marine molluscs, such as oysters and mussels. Often the shells are discarded during the food production process but thanks to an increasing interest in bio-diversity and a move away from plastics shell buttons are once again growing in popularity.
Designer makers have often used these buttons for their luxurious creamy brown colour which is tonal to most dark fabric colours.
