Shipping, Delivery & Returns

We always recommend ordering a sample to ensure a product is suitable for your project. As we cannot know your exact requirements or intended use, please carry out your own tests before purchasing. Our maximum liability is a refund of the order value.


Shipping & Delivery

We ship from the UK and aim to process orders within 2–3 working days. During busier times, dispatch may take slightly longer. You’ll receive an email with tracking details once your order has been sent.

UK

We use Royal Mail 24 as standard. Delivery is typically 1-2 business days after dispatch. Some items may require using alternative Royal Mail services.

Europe

Sent via Royal Mail International Tracked. Expected delivery is 5-10 business days, though times vary by country. Local postal partners may deliver your parcel.

Rest of the World

Sent via Royal Mail International Tracked, with delivery expected in 9-12 business days.

United Arab Emirates

We no longer ship to the UAE via Royal Mail. Please contact us to discuss alternative courier options. 

Large & High-Value Orders

Orders over 2kg or of significant value are usually shipped by courier. Tracking information will be provided once dispatched.

Split Shipments

In some cases, your order may be sent in multiple parcels. We will keep you informed if this is necessary.


Local import fees, taxes or tariffs are payable by the customer. UK VAT is not charged on US deliveries. We have increased shipping charges which can often cover the 10% tariff charged by US customs and we will look at this when preparing your order. We will communicate these options to you at the time of your order.

Taxes & Import Duties

UK Customers

Orders delivered within the UK include 20% VAT. You may occasionally see slight price differences before checkout, this is because VAT is calculated once your delivery address is confirmed.

International Customers

Customers outside the UK will not be charged UK VAT. You are responsible for any local customs charges, duties, handling fees or taxes in your country. Please check with your local customs office if you’re unsure.

Shipping fees are non-refundable for unclaimed items unless there is a product fault or an error on our part. James Tailoring cannot be held responsible for delays caused by customs.


If Your Order Hasn’t Arrived

Thank you for your patience – delays can happen, and we’re here to help.

Most orders include tracking, which we recommend checking regularly.

  • UK orders: Please allow 10 days before contacting us.

International orders: Please allow 30 days before contacting us.


Shipping Tips

  • Please double-check your delivery address before placing your order. We cannot refund or replace items returned due to address errors.
  • Delivery times are estimates and may be longer during busy periods.
  • We cannot guarantee delivery dates and are not responsible for delays caused by customs, unclaimed items or postal strikes.


Returns & Refunds

We hope you love your purchase. If you’d like to return a physical item, please email us at [email protected] within 7 days of receipt (or use our cancellation form).

Fabrics & Haberdashery

We cannot accept returns or offer refunds for cut lengths of fabric, trims or haberdashery, unless they are faulty. Swatches are available – just ask!

Please do not return items without contacting us first.

Conditions for Return

  • Items must be unused, unopened and in original condition.
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method once we receive and check the goods.
  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless we made an error or the item is faulty.
  • Return postage is the customer’s responsibility; we recommend a tracked service.
  • Goods must be returned within 14 days of your cancellation.
  • International returns must be clearly marked “RETURNED MERCHANDISE” to avoid additional customs charges.
